Somebody help me!!!

"Get it away! Get it away!!!"

So here I am going through what looked to be an abandoned fort, looking for any sorts of treasure or artifact that might fetch me quite a generous price back in the civilized realms. Not only loot, but what other ancient and hidden powers could be here? Older ruins are known for also being old mage keeps for those who wished to explore the arcane away from the constant bustling of the city. Perhaps there are some old scrolls, books and tomes that I could find for my own personal use. I am a magister after all. I could certainly use their collected knowledge to help further my own studies.

Of course, with any great ruins that are probably teeming with grand treasures, there is almost always great dangers that are present as well. Be it lethal traps or vicious monsters, one must always take great care. Adventuring has spelled the end for many people out there in the world and I did my best to take extra care.

But alas...

As I was making my way through a darkened corridor, with only the light of my spells to guide me, I could hear a wet sloshing sound that sounded as if it was following me.

I turn to see what it was and sure enough it was a large gelatinous mass of green goo coming with his hungry look on its face. It wasted no time in charging at me once it knew I discovered it.

Coming at me with its great green dark maw open and moving at speeds that made me widen my eyes in surprise, I fired spell after spell at the creature, to no avail. The offensive spells I had learned were either bouncing off or simply had no effect.

I quickly resorted to pulling out a longsword I had sheathed at my waist and plunged it straight into the side of the beast. That was even less effective than the spells. With great strength, it twisted the blade out of my hands and threw it against wall, falling to the ground with a clattering sound.

With no weapons that would be of any help to me, I did the next thing to cross my mind.

RUN!!!! The goo monster was able to outmatch my speed and once again, it opened its great green maw.
