Description

This is a mod I created for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I created my OC, William Holt, from my The Gauntlet Crucible story and put him in Oblivion as a companion. The mod is a bit faulty as I'm new to the thing, but I've managed to get the basic follower scripts working.

Story: William Holt has come to Tamriel (specifically Cyrodiil) right before the events of the Oblivion Crisis. With his friend Smoke, he fought long and hard during the Draconian Civil War in support of the current inhabitant to the Dragon Throne, Queen Presha.

During a battle with one of Nereth's (the dragon queen's brother and leader of the opposing side) raiders, a portal appeared and the human was sucked in. The reasons for this portal appearing are unknown but Holt thinks it was due to one of Nereth's magicians.

He was stripped of all of his equipment, literally arriving naked. As soon as he came to, he was waylaid by a robber knight who demanded him to give his money or his life. Holt, confused as to why the knight would want to rob him in the first place, responded by immediately attacking the knight.

The knight was killed before he could respond and Holt took his weapons and armor for himself.

Since he had no possible way of getting home (or at least, he couldn't find one) he decided to take on work as a mercenary while still trying to find a way to return, spending much time with mages.

He has served with many clients, making a name for himself and developing a reputation for being a fierce and very efficient mercenary. He developed a partnership with the Fighter's Guild (not a member) and is on good terms with the Mages Guild. He had a bad run-in with both the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild once.

One noble hired Holt as a bodyguard after hearing rumors that the Dark Brotherhood had marked her for death. Holt, along with a few other bodyguards, had successfully fended off four seperate assassination attempts with Holt killing two assassins. This, in turn, caused the Dark Brotherhood to come after him directly. They were unsuccessful and when finally the noble was successfully assassinated, they decided to stop their vendetta against Holt. Holt wasn't too worried about the failure of his contract. The noble was supposedly very cruel and engaged in very questionable business practices, not to mention Holt personally disliked her.

His run in with the Thieves Guild began when a beggar had pestered him for some money while he walking the streets in the Imperial City. Holt relented, handing him several but the beggar grabbed his entire money bag and ran off. Immediately Holt pursued him, finally cornering him in a blocked off alleyway. Before he could retrieve his stolen property, he was attacked by several more thieves who associated themselves with the Thieves Guild. Brandishing weapons, they lept for him, which proved to be their last mistake. He held them off, while killing three of them, long enough for the Imperial City Guard to come by and arrest the thieves and the beggar.

He's heard nothing from the guild since then and it's suited him just fine.

His modern training and physical enchancements have made him much more formidable than many have expected. However, he has no magical abilities, despite his best efforts of trying to receive them. However, he has learned how to use magic imbued in scrolls.

Soon, news spread of Emperor Uriel Septim's murder by the Daedra cult known as the Mythic Dawn. He decides to take arms against this cult, knowing immediately that their intentions (while he didn't know what they were) were malicious. Very early on, he comes into contact with the protagonist of the game after being referred to by many citizens and guardsmen.

Holt offers his services and the Champion of Cyrodiil (the player character) accepted.

The story is horrible, I know, but it's really all I could come up with.

With this mod, I've made Holt very quick, very strong, very tough, and very intelligent. He quickly became proficient with use of all melee weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and the bow. However, he cannot use magic for he doesn't know how to harness the power. He can use scrolls though.

He is also essential, which in-game it means the character cannot die.

To offset this though, you have to constantly pay him for services. Initial fee: 100000 gold and an additonal weekly payment is 10000 gold.

Morally, he is rather gray, but he is generally a very polite and kind man. However, he is not above showing brutality to those that try him.
